God's Way Triune Ministries

A Legacy of Faith and Service

Founded on the unwavering principles of the Gospel, God's Way Triune Ministries stands as a testament to the enduring power of faith, the pursuit of holiness, and the transformative impact of God's word. A member of the broader Protestant community, our church found its roots in the Pentecostal movement in Dayton, Ohio, a lineage that speaks to our vibrant and spirit-led worship.

The Genesis of Our Ministry

Elder Jim Holmes' Vision

The inception of God's Way Triune Ministries traces back to the spiritual journey of Elder Jim Holmes, a native of Ozark, Alabama. Raised in a family of faith, Elder Holmes was baptized and nurtured in the Christian faith at the Holy Temple Church of God In Christ in Dayton, Ohio. His ministerial calling was affirmed in 1990, marked by an anointing that led him to preach the gospel with zeal and conviction. Following his ordination in Cleveland, Ohio, Elder Holmes embarked on a journey of spiritual leadership, profoundly marked by his inaugural sermon on "Holiness."

Divine Calling

The year 1999 brought a pivotal moment in Elder Holmes life with the passing of his wife, Donna Holmes, after 28 years of marriage, Donna passed away as a result of brain cancer. It was at this time Elder Holmes focus his energy into the ministry. God gave to him which was called: God’s way food ministry. A beacon of hope and substance for the community.

The Birth of a New Vision

Elder Holmes' life took a turn towards new beginnings when he married Linda D. Foreman in 2003. A significant shift occurred in 2004, as Elder Holmes felt a divine call to independence from the Church of God in Christ. This period of fasting and reflection culminated in the renaming of the ministry to "God's Way Triune Ministries" — a name signifying the Trinity and the holistic approach to ministry encompassing body, soul, and spirit.

The Dawning of a New Era

The Upper Room and Beyond

Our first service in the 'Upper Room' in Dayton, Ohio, marked the humble beginning of God's Way Triune Ministries with a mere eleven members. The spirit-filled inaugural service was a testament to God's mighty presence, leading to rapid growth and the eventual need for a larger space. In 2007, we were blessed to dedicate our current sanctuary on Old Troy Pike — a milestone in our ministry's history.

Continuing the Legacy

A Journey of Love and Service

A journey of love and service. The years following was joyous when Elder Holmes met Johnnie Jackson in 2020 then married in 2021 ( she too had experienced the passing of two husbands due to cancer) these events interwoven with our ministry’s growth, exemplify God’s unwavering providence and grace.

Our ministries, including the Men’s and Women’s Departments, the Youth Council, and various outreach programs, reflect our commitment to service, mentorship, and community engagement. We've been privileged to serve our community through initiatives like the annual Community Day, Vacation Bible School, and Thanksgiving meals for the needy.

A Future Anchored in Faith

In September 2022, Elder Holmes was elevated to the position of Presiding Bishop over the Churches of the UCFO, a testament to his leadership and the growth of our ministry. As we reflect on our journey, we stand in awe of God’s faithfulness and look forward to continuing our mission of spreading the Gospel and serving God's people.
